About Chimes Aviation Academy
Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA) takes immense pride in its partnership with IndiGo, India’s largest airline. Together, they bring the IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program — a comprehensive course that takes aspiring pilots from foundational training to Airbus A320 type rating.
At the end of the program, cadets graduate as fully trained, DGCA-compliant Junior First Officers with IndiGo.
Program Overview
Phase 1: Ground School Training (Gurugram, India)
This phase covers all DGCA and WPC theory subjects, including Meteorology, Air Regulations, Air Navigation, Technical General, Technical (Single Engine), Radio Telephony, and Aviation English Language Proficiency (AELP).
Duration: Full-time Ground School sessions led by experienced instructors.
Phase 2: Flight Training (Dhana & Neemuch)
CAA operates one of India’s most modern fleets with Cessna 172, Piper Archer DX, Tecnam P2010 Tdi, and Diamond DA42 aircraft. Training includes:
- 185 hours Single Engine flying
- 15 hours Multi-Engine (DA42)
- 30 hours Simulator
Flight training adheres strictly to DGCA standards ensuring global-level competency.
Phase 3: Type Rating (Airbus A320)
Upon successful CPL completion, cadets proceed for Airbus A320 Type Rating including MCC and JOT at an IndiGo-approved TRTO partner facility.
Eligibility Criteria
- Education: 10+2 with minimum 51% in Physics, Maths, and English.
- Age: Between 18–35 years.
- Medical: DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
- Passport: Valid Indian Passport.
- Police Verification: Basic Disclosure Certificate.
- English Fluency: Written and verbal.
- BMI: 18–25 (NABL-accredited hospital certificate).
- No visible tattoos.
Selection & Assessment Process
Stage 1: ADAPT Assessment
Online psychometric and aptitude testing to evaluate cognitive and behavioural skills. Fee: ₹30,000.
Stage 2: Group Task Assessment
Group tasks with IndiGo panellists to evaluate teamwork and problem-solving ability.
Stage 3: Personal Interview
Final personal interview round with IndiGo representatives followed by Letter of Intent (LoI) signing.
